Every sensory element makes the space warm and welcoming, supports creativity and gets people talking
Working with the John Lewis design team, we helped create an environment that encourages people to explore, try out new ideas, play with materials and confidently talk to partners.
Through the use of lighting, colours, aromas, sound and textures, the entire atmosphere is sensorially designed to stimulate creativity, lower inhibitions and get people working together.
Nostalgic scents trigger ‘approach motivation’ – the desire to explore and seek out new things. Evocative sounds and smells bring room sets to life. Soft materials on the back of swatches encourage collaboration, and make a softer, warmer sound as they’re dropped on the table.
Around waiting areas and consultation desks, a sensory prescription of music, aroma and colour, lowers stress and slows the passing of time.
A sensory prescription for creativity and talking to others.
